Meet Larissa! She is a lovely 8-year-old lady searching for a soft place to land and a devoted family to call her own. She has been lovingly cared for by the staff and volunteers at Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for the past year, but what she truly deserves is the comfort and companionship of a forever home.
This sweet girl loves being brushed, seeks out affection and has impeccable litter-box manners. One of her favorite places is her special couch-shaped pillow, where she can relax and keep an eye on everything happening around her. Bring out a spring toy, though, and Larissa’s playful side comes to life!
Larissa is diabetic and receives an insulin injection twice a day—30 minutes after her wet-food breakfast and dinner. She handles her injections beautifully, especially with a little Churu as a distraction, and barely seems to notice them. She also free-feeds a specific, reasonably priced dry food and needs access to plenty of fresh water at all times.
Larissa’s diabetes is only one small part of who she is. She is a gentle, affectionate and playful companion who is ready to share her heart with someone special. If you can offer Larissa the consistent care and loving home she deserves, she will reward you with plenty of affection and quiet companionship.
